Supporting Harvard Biggest Breakthroughs.
Kylia visited the Emmanuel Career Center for the first time during her freshman year. I was applying to be a Resident Assistant and an Admissions Ambassador, and I really wanted both. I wanted to make sure I was doing everything I could to be the best candidate. She did get both positionsand made key connections that would bolster her Emmanuel experience.
On campus, Kylia served as a Resident Assistant, through which she enjoyed creating community. She also earned the status of Gold Key Admissions Ambassador, which helped with her confidence. I loved giving tours, she says. People dont realize what a hidden gem Emmanuel is!
It was really rewarding. Students always came up to me and said, you were my tour guide! I like to think I was part of their decision to come here.
By junior year, Kylia was still fully committed to her chemistry major, but knew working in a laboratory all day wasnt the best fit for her. An influential professor asked if shed ever considered research administration. Days later, a position for a research administration intern at Harvard came through the Career Center, and her Career Advisor put her name forward.
