Andy YosinoffWith your trademark passion and persistence, you have helped reveal to generations of Emmanuel student-athletes the heights of what they are capable ofboth on the basketball court and in every dimension of life.
Arriving at Emmanuel in 1977, you set out with patience and resolve to build a women basketball program characterized by competitive excellence and integrity of purpose. What followed is extraordinary: During your 49-season tenure, your teams have earned championships, set records, and provided an enduring source of pride and unity for our College community. Along the way you have collected over 900 career victories, among the most earned by any coach in the history of women collegiate basketball.
Yet the fuller measure of your legacy is found in the lives of the students you have mentoredwomen who under your guidance grew in their commitment to support one another, never quit, and demonstrate grace in both in defeat and victory.
Throughout your career, you have led with a clear moral compass, shaped by faith, family, and a deep respect for the dignity of every person. Coaching at a Catholic college, you have embraced Emmanuel mission as your own, fostering teams that reflect the rich diversity of our campus and world. You have been a steady advocate for students of all backgrounds and beliefs, ensuring that every player is seen, heard, and empowered. In moments that called for courage as well as care, you have stood for the rights of your student-athletes with quiet conviction and principled leadership.
Andy, we at Emmanuel are deeply proud to call you our own. In recognition of your legendary achievements, and with gratitude for your faithful, decades-long service, the College is honored today to confer upon you the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa.
